Trip Introduction
Rara Lake is a truly off the beaten track trek taking you to the secret trails of far northwest of Nepal. Rara Lake is a clear, unspoiled pristine clear lake and ideal for anyone wanting to be away. The region around Jumla and Rara Lake is still relatively unexplored and provides the glimpses of typical village cultures and their rustic way of life. If you are looking of wilderness and solitude travel, this trek is an ideal choice. One can explore incredibly diverse Himalayan vegetation and observe different kinds of birds and wildlife. In during this Rara trek we pass lots of ups and downs through beautiful spruce, pine and juniper forests and gorgeous valleys with grassy expanses.
Our trek starts from Jumla, the largest upland hill town in west Nepal. Rara Lake is the Nepal's largest lake and lies at an altitude of 2,980m/9,837ft. An outstanding snow-capped panorama of Dolpo and great mountains overshadows the scene across the deep clear waters of the lake. The National park consists of Himalayan Black Bear, Leopard, Black Panther, Musk Deer, Red Panda, Wild Boar, Rhesus and Languor Monkeys and numerous species of birds. The trek offer superb views over Mugu, the southern mountains of Humla and the border ranges of Tibet. The trail takes us through grassy alpine pastures and remote villages, before descending steeply off the second pass to Jumla. From here, we fly back to Kathmandu via Nepalgunj.

Day 01: Arrival day in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264 ft)Namaste & welcome to Himalayan Planet of Nepal. While you landed at the Tribhuvan intl. airport Himalayan Planet Adventures representative welcomes you with your name and assists to transfer in your hotel in Kathmandu. After time to get refreshed, bring you at head office and briefing about the program and evening we’ll pick up you for welcome dinner in one of the typical Nepalese restaurant with cultural program in the heart of Kathmandu and overnight at Hotel.
