Beautiful Everest Base Camp Trekking Spring 2011 with HPA

I just arrived back in Kathmandu from the Everest Base Camp Trek with Himalayan Planet Adventures and I had a wonderful time! The whole trek was organized very well from start to finish from the tour of many of the highlights of Kathmandu to each day of the trek. My guide, Bimal, was excellent with 10 years experience and almost flawless English. Not only was he a great guide with tons of knowledge about the mountains and acclimatization, but he was extremely friendly. He helped me with my Nepali phrases and taught me some Nepali card games as well. I felt like I was travelling with a friend as well as just a guide.
I felt very safe with my guide and the trekking company as a solo female traveler. They took all the guess work out of trekking and made it extremely easy even though the trekking itself was definitely a challenge! I had an excellent experience and would absolutely book another trek with Himalayan Planet Adventures in the future.

Mount Everest Base Camp Trekking with Himalayan Planet – Oct. 2010

My wife Jan (age: 62) and I (age: 65) recently successfully completed the 16-day trek to Everest Base Camp (EBC) & Kala Pattar. This adventure was one of the most fantastic experiences of our life. Our guide, Bikash was excellent. His leadership of our trekking team was a large part of our success and enjoyment of the journey. Assistant guide, Dhan was Jan's hero. He was very patient with her showing he the best path to take across rock fields, streams and thousands of steps. Our young porter, Binod never seemed to tire carrying our 65 pounds packs all the way to EBC and back to Lukla. I am attaching a photo of our fabulous trekking team and Jan & I at Kala Pattar with Everest in the background.
We selected your company (Himalayan Planet Adventures) based on our web site screening and decision criteria of many Nepali trekking companies. We selected your company based primarily upon your itinerary, time for acclimatization and fast e-mail responses to our questions and requests for information. What we found out later was not only did your company meet or exceeded all our expectations, but also how friendly and kind all of our team members were. Their friendship will always be in our hearts. I would highly recommend your company to our family and friends should they ever wish to visit the Himalayan Mountains and share an experience of a lifetime. I look forward to telling my grandchildren many stories of our experience.
Sincerely,
Charles Bajza

Everest Base camp treks

As we mentioned when we were leaving Nepal after a great trip to Everest base camp, we felt absolutely delighted with the trek you provided us. Your guides were great, the two young porters were fun and we all had a good time. I've been passing out your contact information to friends in Beijing and I hope something comes out of that, once the situation has settled a bit. Certainly don't hesitate to use me as a reference to potential groups interesting in trekking with you.

Hi Naba,
We really had a wonderful time in Nepal with your help. Everything was good - our time in Kathmandu, and of course the Mt. Everest base camp trekking with our trekking guide Bimal, Dhan Kumar and the trekking Sherpa porters. I have recently recommended you to someone in my hiking club who is planning to take the same trek. I hope she connects with you.
All the best!

Annapurna Sanctuary Trek Spring 2010 with Himalayan Planet

My son and I have had a magnificent trek with the team from HPA. Our guide Bikash was a great person. He provided us with everything we needed.
From the time we were picked up from the airport till the time we were taken back to the airport it was tremendous. The nights and the Shanker were great and the welcome dinner was just a great experience.
For anyone who has not come to Nepal before this company is the company to go for. They provide everything you need and look after you all the way. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Both my son and I want to come again to Nepal and to travel with HPA.
The ABC trek is the best thing I have ever done. Don’t forget to bring your camera and take many photos.
The main reason I came was for the rhododendrons. They gave me the exact time the flowers would be at their peak. I can’t explain how good they were.
Thanks

Everest Base Camp – Cho La pass - GokyoTrek – Autumn 2009

Dear Nepal travelers,
My wife and I have trekked twice with Naba's company now; We hiked the Anapurna region a few years ago, and we have just completed the Everest Base Camp trek and Cho Lo pass in October 2009. There are a lot of trekking companies to pick from in Nepal - and I we were just lucky to stumble onto Naba for the first trek. We didn't hesitate in booking with him again this time around.
In my view It is very important to go with a reputable trekking company in the Everest region because as you go up higher, the number of places to stay (teahouses) reduces dramatically. The EBC trek is becoming very popular, and by the time you get to Gorek Shep (the Teahouse village which you base yourself to reach EBC and to climb Kala Pattar), there are only 5 or 6 teahouses. Getting a room is nearly impossible without the right guide. Basically you get what you pay for - you can find cheaper guides but you won't get much for your money. You here plenty of stories about bad guides that promise a lot and under deliever.
The other thing Rishi and Naba will do is to tailor a trip for you where you can see some of the places you wouldn't normally see on the standard trek. The EBC trek is very popular, and therefore very crowded so it is nice to get off the beaten path every now and again).
As for the trek itself - it is quite a lot tougher (and more rewarding) than anything we had done before. You spend a lot of time up above 4000mts. At that height, we found things got quite difficult. Also food and accommodation gets more basic the higher you go (because everything has to get lugged up the mountain), so be prepared to eat a lot of Dal. I definitely recommend this trek for the incredible views and the rewarding experience / sense of achievement ... but it can be a bit of a slog at times so factor in some recovery time in Kathmandu at the end if you can - nothing like lazing by a pool to help relax after all that.
Finally, if you have a little more time for the trek, climbing across the Cho La pass was probably the most rewarding (and difficult) part of our whole trip. Ascending the pass will get you into a second valley with new and more distant views of Everest and the surrounding mtns. From there you could also try to get over the Renjo pass into a third valley which is supposed to be even more spectacular (this was our original plan - but our legs gave up). Anyway talk to Naba about variations of the trek you can do, as it is worth it simply so you don't have to back track on the hike too much.
Anyway, feel free to email me if you have anymore questions - we are happy to recommend to Himalayan Planet Adventures to anyone. Guranteed service and experience guide!!
All the best and good luck !

Everest Base Camp Trek – Winter 2010

Well now we are back in Australia, and had a chance to reflect on our Everest Base Camp trek, we would like to recommend Himalayan Planet Adventures for your trekking adventures in Nepal.
What an amazing adventure, all the crew at Himalayan Planet Adventures went out of their way to make sure our journey was something that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
The Mangers and founders of Himalayan Planet Adventures, Nabaraj and Rishi, with their roots coming from working as guides themselves in the Himalayas, bring together a package that is wonderful. From the airport pickup, city tours, top class accommodation and their slowly slowly approach to the trek, ensures you have an enjoyable and safe journey. Our great guide Bimal and assistant guide Lila looked after us while in the mountains both on the trail and in the tea houses, sharing stories, laughs and learning a few new card games along the way. Our trusty porter BJ always had our gear secure and waiting in our room for when we arrived. Their knowledge of the mountains and flexible approach to meet our needs was commendable. Himalayan Planet Adventures is definitely not the freight train push of customers that we saw of so many other companies.
Any travel is a privilege, and to travel on the roof of the world is something extra special. Pictures don't justify how amazing the Himalayan Mountains are, every new valley is another postcard, and if you are really lucky you may just get to see a Snow Leopard like us. Add a great team to your own desire to be involved, take it slowly and I guarantee Himalayan Planet Adventures will give you a wonderful experience.
Will bring my climbing gear next time
Thanks guys

Amazing Annapurna circuit trek with Himalayan Planet Adventures!!

We have had a great Annapurna circuit trekking with Himalayan Planet! We are two Dutch female friends, aged 26 and 30, who travelled to Nepal without foreign travelling agency. Himalayan Planet local trekking company helped us planning our journey in Nepal. They have also guided us through the Annapurna circuit trekking. We felt safe and there was taken good care of us. They provided trekking guide, porter, clean water, arranged our permits, transportation and flight tickets and make sure we had a place to stay at night. We had a great porter and a good English speaking guide. Apart from their guidance we had the possibility to explore the villages we visited and walk on our own when direction was clear.
Being in nature like this, makes you believe in a Maker: how great is our God! All the way up to 5,416 meters, we were amazed about the beauty and surrounded by mountains above 7,000 meters. The last day up was really cold and tough, but the views were worth it! We wouldn’t miss this experience and are grateful for everything Himalayan Planet has arranged for us. We wouldn’t mind to recommend anyone to travel with Himalayan Planet Adventures.
Best wishes from,

Annapurna Base Camp Trek (Annapurna Sanctuary Trekking) – spring 2009

I pick the Himalayan planet for a website (www.everestbasecamp.travel), jump up to the plane and arrived in Nepal. Took the Annapurna base camp trekking and it was a really great experience, especially my Guide Bimal and Bikash are really professional but yet I still feel friend with them and lot of  help during the ABC trekking, especially to a female single trekker like me. It’s a worthy a life time. Thank you Himalayan Planet guys. Definitely it’s a high recommended local company in Kathmandu.

Nepal - Annapurna Circuit Trek
Our groups of five from Australia and Holland have just successfully completed the Annapurna Circuit trek, followed by a visit to the Chitwan Game Park, all organized very expeditiously by Himalayan Planet Adventures.

We have had a tremendous trek, and in particular we found our host Rishi Paneru to be exceptionally helpful in setting everything up for us after our arrival in Kathmandu. Our three porter-guides Dhurba, Santa and Nabaraj were absolutely terrific throughout and are highly commended for their strength and good humor. We all thoroughly recommend Himalayan Planet Adventures for a great trekking experience!

Nepal Himalayas - Annapurna Circuit Trekking
Hey RishiSome feedback on our trek:
Having been on several treks in Nepal, amongst others Everest base Camp and Kanchenjunga base Camp, Himalayan Planet Adventures did a great job in organising our Annapurna Circuit trekking where they were very flexible and accommodating to meet our needs and requirements.

From airport pick-up to hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and guide-cum-porter for the Annapurna trek, everything was organised very professional and we were left with a very welcoming, positive impression so that for our next trek in the Himalayas we would definitely choose Himalayan Planet Adventures again - a highly recommendable to anyone, trustworthy agency.
Thanks a lot Madan and Rishi for a great Annapurna trek!
Best Wishes,
